Rango coming our way (starts May 6)...

Rango rides to glory.

If you haven’t seen the Johnny Depp voiced “Rango” about the heroic chameleon trapped in a strange desert town filled with unusual characters, you absolutely should!  This animated movie is a one-of-a-kind creation – yes even Hollywood can do it sometimes! This is a movie we are putting on screen because we think it hasn’t been seen enough and absolutely should be enjoyed in the theater in the best viewing environment possible.

Director Gore Verbinski was given large amounts of latitude to craft the movie the way he wanted, and he passed along that creative freedom to the designers, animators and visual effects technicians who brought the myriad of faces and voices to near-photo-realistic life.

This is a movie designed from the ground up to appeal to adults, with all kinds of inside humor from westerns and movies of the past.  The creatives behind it broke all the typical rules of computer-generated animated movies by having heaps of individual unique characters, re

The Regal Pioneer Place dropped Paramount’s “Rango” about 2 weeks ago from their screens, and we’ve been unable to find the space for it even though we’ve wanted to show it for several weeks.  You absolutely don’t want to miss it!

THE PRINCESS OF MONTPENSIER Begins May 6...

In THE PRINCESS OF MONTPENSIER, acclaimed filmmaker Bertrand Tavernier (‘ROUND MIDNIGHT) directs a spectacular cast in a riveting, lush romantic drama set in the high courts of 16th Century France. Against the backdrop of the savage Catholic/Protestant wars, Marie de Mézières (Mélanie Thierry), a beautiful young aristocrat, finds herself married to a young prince (Grégoire Leprince-Ringuet, LOVE SONGS)  she does not love, haunted by a rakish suitor Gaspard Ulliel (A VERY LONG ENGAGEMENT) from her childhood, and advised by an aging nobleman Lambert Wilson (OF GODS AND MEN), harboring his own forbidden desire for her. The Princess of Montpensier must struggle passionately to stay alive in the intrigue of this corrupt political and romantic web of duty, passion, religion and war.

QUEEN TO PLAY Begins April 29...

QUEEN TO PLAY begins a run at Living Room on April 29. Oscar winner Kevin Kline (A Fish Called Wanda) and the luminous Sandrine Bonnaire (Vagabond, La Cérémonie) square off in this stylish and sophisticated dramedy of newfound passions and mid-life triumphs, set on the postcard-perfect isle of Corsica. Lovely, repressed and quietly intelligent, French chambermaid Hélène (Bonnaire) comes upon a couple (The L Word’s Jennifer Beals and Marie Antoinette’s Dominic Gould) engaging in an intense chess match, and discovers she has a knack for the game. This obsession—much to the chagrin of her husband and teenaged daughter—leads her to seek the clandestine tutelage of a reclusive American doctor (Kline, in his first French-speaking role)—a liaison that radically transforms both of their lackluster lives. Based on Bertina Henrichs’ acclaimed novel La Joueuse d’echec (The Chess Player), Queen to Play is the auspicious feature film debut of French director and screenwriter Caroline Bottaro.
